Briefing

The story

1 September 1967 – Que Son Valley

Sweep operations have begun to protect the local population from intimidation as the upcoming elections in South Vietnam are about to take place. 2 companies of marines have been given the job to sweep through the Que Son valley and keep the peace there. Elements of the PAVN with VC support are known to be operating in the neighbouring region and mustn’t be allowed to influence the voting.

3 parties have been brought forward, Democratic Progressive, The White Dove and the Democratic Socialist parties.

Australian SAS are also on covert operations but of a very different kind.

How the game plays

FilmSim NAM games come in a variety of styles. Combat missions, role play and team effort are all part of them. This event will rely on role play as much as shooting, with the whole of the NVA elements being able to play civilians through out the game.

As has been advised in a number of Facebook announcements, we are going back to grass roots UA units, only 1 SF seals force will be allowed going forward.

Full mission briefs will be released a week before the event after we see what numbers we have.

Sides

For this one, we will be opening the bookings with two sides.

US & Australian SAS

  • US 25th infantry (Green machine)
  • Aus SAS

VC & PAVN

  • VC 272nd Civilian (PJs)
  • PAVN 14th Regiment (NVA Greens and pith helmet)

Both sides will have a fixed and out of game HQ with maps and radios.

Welcome to the War guys

Hi all and welcome to the next instalment of our epic Vietnam story. This is a full on FilmSim experience and everyone will be expected to play his or her part. Like Milsim, you may not be pulling your trigger all of the time, however when the shit hits the fan, it will really mean something. We hope everyone can get fully immersed, live, eat and breathe the 1960s/70s conflict.

On this note as many may have seen from Facebook announcements, only one small group of Navy seals will be allowed as we have started to notice a trend of more guys wanting to go SF. The NAM game is supposed to be all about the grunts on the ground for both sides.

We can offer full rental kit for anyone that needs it for free and period rifles are only £20 for the weekend. This will include 3 x 30rnd mags to get you going.

What to bring

For this game you will need:

  • Full camping equipment
  • Water - drinking
  • Airsoft Kit (if you have it)
  • Food and booze for the socials.

Please try to bring and use period (ish) kit only if you can, NOTHING modern looking can be taken into the field or it MUST be disguised to not break the immersion of the camp.

There will be an out of game camping area too for guys with plastic tents.

WE HAVE A HUGE PILE OF FREE LOAN KIT TOO!!

Comms

We will provide field radios and maps for the commanders in the field. PLEASE do not bring personal comms, only platoon radios will be allocated and used.
